Apogee Telecommunications’ CEO, Chuck Brady, was in a quandary.

The Zeta sorority house, just a stone’s throw away from the University of Texas at Austin, desperately wanted to connect the residents of the sorority house to the Internet for the upcoming fall semester. But there was no time for Apogee to do the half-mile cable build from its existing fiber.

Apogee was already servicing the 24-floor private dormitory called the Castilian. Why couldn’t he transmit the signal wirelessly from the roof of the Castilian to the roof of the Zeta house?
